Privacy Policy

What we hold, why we hold it, and how to make us delete it.

Last updated 15 September 2026

We are a photo gallery service. Photographers and event hosts use PhotoStorii to share pictures privately with the people who were there.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising. We have never done either.

Face matching is entirely your choice. Nothing about your face is processed unless you ask for it, and you can delete it in one tap. See Finding yourself in photos.

Who we are

PhotoStorii is a product of Eventstorii Techlabs Private Limited, a company registered in India. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean that company.

If you want to reach us about anything on this page, see Contact us at the end.

Who this policy is about

Two different kinds of people use PhotoStorii, and we hold different things about each.

Studios and hosts

Photographers, studios, and people running an event. They create an account, set up a gallery, and upload the pictures. They decide who may see them.

Guests

People invited to look at a gallery — the couple, the family, the attendees. A guest may sign in to see pictures, and may be able to upload their own if the host allows it.

If you are a guest, please read the next paragraph carefully, because it explains something people often assume wrongly.

The pictures in a gallery belong to the studio or host who made it, not to us. They chose what to upload and who may see it. We store and deliver those pictures on their instructions. So if you want a photograph of you removed from a gallery, the fastest route is to ask the studio or host who invited you. You can also write to us and we will help.

What we collect

When you create an account

When you use the service

If you choose face matching

A selfie, and a mathematical summary of your face. This is explained in full below.

Finding yourself in photos

A gallery can have hundreds or thousands of pictures. To save you scrolling through all of them, PhotoStorii can find the ones you are in. This is the most sensitive thing we do, so here is exactly how it works.

It never happens unless you ask

We ask for your agreement before anything about your face is processed — not afterwards, and not buried in a longer document. If you do not agree, nothing happens, and you can still use the gallery normally by browsing it yourself.

What we keep

  • The selfie you took.
  • A mathematical summary of your face — a long list of numbers. It is not a picture, and it cannot be turned back into one. Its only use is comparing your face to faces in that event's photographs.
  • A record of when you agreed, and which version of the wording you were shown.

What we never do with it

  • We never sell it, rent it, or share it for advertising.
  • We never use it to identify you across other people's events.
  • We never hand it to anyone for surveillance or law-enforcement profiling.

Deleting it

You can delete it yourself, at any time, without asking us. The gallery has a “delete my selfie” control. Using it removes the selfie and the mathematical summary of your face together — it is a deletion, not a switch that hides them.

If you would rather we did it, write to us.

Why we use it

We do not use any of it to build advertising profiles, and we do not make decisions about you automatically in a way that has a legal effect on you.

Who else handles it

We keep the list of outside companies deliberately short. Each one does a specific job and may only use the data for that job.

We do not sell personal data to anybody, and we never have. We will share information if the law genuinely requires it — a valid court order, for example — and we will tell you unless we are forbidden from doing so.

These companies operate internationally, so your information may be stored or processed outside India.

How long we keep it

We also keep backups for a short period so we can recover from a failure. Deleted material disappears from those in the ordinary course as older backups are replaced.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Write to us and we will reply. We may need to check who you are first, so that somebody cannot use these rights to get at your data.

If you are in India, you also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India. We would rather you came to us first, and we will try to put it right.

Children

PhotoStorii accounts are for adults. We do not knowingly let a child under 18 create one.

Children do appear in photographs at weddings and events. Those pictures are uploaded by the studio or host, who is responsible for having the permission of a parent or guardian before sharing them. If you are a parent or guardian and you want a photograph of your child removed, write to us and we will act on it.

Keeping it safe

No service can promise perfect security. If something does go wrong in a way that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change this page we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects you — for instance if we started using your information for something new — we will tell you directly rather than quietly editing the page.
